A message from a customer, who is running a dental clinic with her husband and is a expert on preventive medicine training and a health and medical care coordinator.

She helps her husband at work, and also provides nutritional guidance to patients.

She pursued nutritional science due to her own child’s development disorder. She also has a chance to see many cases at the dental office.

○○○ started playing soft-ball tennis(“bukatsu”, an after-school activity) when he entered junior high school.

He was visibly under nourished due to the increased amount of exercise in the first semester. Also, it may have been caused by the new environment. His condition seemed to have been getting better towards the end of his elementary school years.

So we had a discussion about the supplements and meals, including him.

The increase in the amount of exercise can lead to anemia.

He kept up in the second semester.

As I wrote before, he was ranked #2 in his class in the mid-term exam.
He was ranked top 12 in his whole grade.

We encouraged him to keep it up so that he can go to the same high school his dad attended.

The final exam was over.

Japanese is not the subject he is good at. Because of the nutritional deficiency, his reading comprehension level is not that high. His over all grades were pretty good, except for Japanese, which went down a little.


The subject it really helped with was music!!
He was saying, “I was number one in my class!! Mom, thanks!”

Great.

We don’t let him go to cram schools (“juku”). My husband prepares study materials and let him work on those.
My husband helps him study for the exams.

However, we have him go to bed by 11 pm, because we don’t like him to sacrifice sleep for studying.

“It’s the concentration that matters. It’s no good without it.”

The same can be said about playing piano.

There may be people who object to the idea of giving protein or supplements to kids.

But, we are now in the age of “Vitamin Baby”, in which people are aware of this before and during pregnancy.

I understand this is something that can divide opinions.

What is needed for the brain?
What is needed for the body?

I came to know about it.


He does it by himself, because he has enough knowledge about it.
I don’t have to nag him every day.

He says things like “I’ll have muscle pains” and “lose my strength ”, if he forgets to take them.

“Ninniku Dama for Memory!!” is the motto in our home.
